Online Facility For Personal Hearing Of CT/GST Cases In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, Commissioner of Commercial Taxes and GST in Odisha has decided to conduct hearings online. The CT/GST Commissionerate informed that an alternative online facility for carrying out the adjudication / appeal / revision hearings by the respective tax authorities will start in Odisha.

For cases under VAT / CST / ET law etc. the Assesses / Tax Consultants will be required to submit, through email, all required documents along with scanned copies of their signatures and Photo ID Card to the designated email ID of the respective tax authority.

For GST related matters, the Taxpayer will follow the procedure for submission of such documents online through GST Common Portal. The scanned copy of his signature and Photo ID Card will be submitted by the Taxpayer through email to the designated email ID of the respective tax authority.

Upon receipt of such email, the respective tax authority will schedule a Video Conference through JITSI Meet or Google meet or Zoom etc. as per mutual convenience. The tax authority will intimate the schedule details in advance to the Assesses / Tax Consultants through email / SMS.

The VC will be held as per the scheduled date and time within official working hours. The Assesses / Tax Consultants will be provided with a summary of the proceedings in soft copy through the given email ID after the VC is over for information.

Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is issued for conducting such virtual personal hearings through VC. The official email IDS of the related tax officials will be published shortly in the web directory of the CT & GST organisation and will also be available at all field offices.
