The Odisha government has announced an extension of morning classes for schools across the state in response to the ongoing heat and humidity. According to a notification from the Information and Public Relations department, classes for students from Standard I to XII will be held from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM on June 21. Regular class schedules will resume on June 22.Previously, the state had declared an early summer vacation starting April 25 due to severe heatwave conditions, with schools originally set to reopen on June 18. However, persistent high temperatures and humidity have led the state government to instruct district collectors to assess local weather conditions and make final decisions regarding school reopening.
