Odisha Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 Live: The 21 constituencies in Odisha underwent polling in four phases from May 13 to June 1 during the Lok Sabha elections 2024. The results for these constituencies are set to be announced today.The coastal state, with its 21 constituencies, holds substantial political weight and is witnessing a fierce contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Indian National Congress (INC), and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) led by Naveen Patnaik.In the past elections, the BJD emerged as the dominant party in Odisha, securing 12 seats in 2019 and 20 seats in 2014. Meanwhile, the BJP won 8 seats in 2019 and just 1 seat in 2014.Key candidates include Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan contesting from Sambalpur, and Sambit Patra from Puri, both representing the BJP. The Congress has fielded state president Sarat Pattanayak from Nuapada and former Indian hockey team captain Prabodh Tirkey from Talrasa. The BJD has positioned former Mumbai police commissioner Arup Patnaik against Sambit Patra in Puri.According to exit polls by Jann Ki Baat, BJP is projected to secure 15-18 seats, while BJD is expected to win 3-7 seats.The 21 constituencies are Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Berhampur, Koraput, Bargarh, Sundargarh, Bolangir, Kandhamal, Aska, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Puri, Bhubaneswar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, and Jagatsinghpur.Simultaneously, the state also held elections for its 147 assembly seats.
