Modi to Take Oath Today for Historic Third Term

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to be sworn in today at Rashtrapati Bhawan in Delhi, marking his historic third term in office, a feat last achieved by Jawaharlal Nehru. The new cabinet will also be inducted during the ceremony, following an intense 11-hour meeting at the Prime Minister’s residence yesterday to finalize decisions.Security has been tightened with a three-layered arrangement, including SWAT and NSG commandos, as the capital remains on high alert. A no-fly zone has been enforced, prohibiting aerial platforms such as drones, paragliders, remotely piloted aircraft, and hot air balloons for the next few days to ensure safety.The event will be graced by leaders from neighboring countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, Mauritius, Seychelles, and the Maldives, underscoring India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy. These dignitaries will have designated routes from their hotels to the venue and back, ensuring smooth and secure transit.President Droupadi Murmu will administer the oath of office to Modi and his new cabinet, marking a significant moment in India’s political landscape.
