On Saturday, President Droupadi Murmu participated in the voting process for the New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency. Officials reported that she arrived at the polling station located at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Kendriya Vidyalaya within the Presidential Estate at approximately 9 a.m.
Apart from that the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections began with notable figures such as Union ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Rao Inderjit Singh, BJP’s Maneka Gandhi, Sambit Patra, Manohar Khattar, and Manoj Tiwari, as well as Mehbooba Mufti and Congress’s Kanhaiya Kumar among the prominent candidates.
Early voters included Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, and cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir, along with Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, who were seen capturing a selfie after voting.By 9 AM, the overall voter turnout stood at 10.82%, with Delhi reporting 8.94% and West Bengal leading at 16.54%. This phase covers six states and two Union Territories, involving over 11 crore voters deciding the fate of 889 candidates across 58 seats.
