Kandhamal Police engage in gun battle with maoists and seize live ammunitions and weapons

The security forces of Odisha carried put an operation in the district pf Kandhamal and engaged in a gun battle with the Maoists on Monday.
After having received a tip off, the Kandhamal police launched a search operation in the forests on Kandhamal and after a long exchange of fire seized arms, ammunition, medicines and other incriminating articles from spot.
The official Twitter account of DGP Odisha in a tweet said,
“In an operation carried out in Kandhamal district,Odisha police busted a Maoists Camp. Two weapons, large no of live ammunition and other incriminating articles were seized. We appeal to Maoists to shun violence and join national mainstream.”
