The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted increased rainfall activity in Odisha starting June 26 due to the formation of a cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal. The regional weather office predicts heavy to very heavy rainfall across several districts from June 26 to June 28.IMD reports indicate that Odisha will experience rainfall for the next five days, with light to moderate rain and thundershowers expected in various regions. Additionally, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph are likely.A yellow warning has been issued for nine districts: Khordha, Nayagarh, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Ganjam, Rayagada, Jharsuguda, and Sundergarh.In response, the Odisha government has placed all district collectors on alert in anticipation of the heavy rainfall.
