Bhubaneswar : A day after the Centre allowed opening of gymnasiums outside containment zones from August 5 as part of graded reopening of the economy under Unlock 3, All Odisha Gym Association on Thursday urged Odisha government to allow opening of the fitness centres in the State.
βBoosting immunity is crucial to fight Coronavirus and there is no alternative to regular exercise. So, we hope the State government will consider our plea and also allow gyms to operate in the State,β said Satyajit, president of the association.
He also urged the State government to take into account the livelihood of the gym trainers and other thousands of staff engaged in fitness centres across the State while considering their plea.
Besides, the gym owners in the State said that they will strictly adhere to COVID-19 norms like the use of face coverings and social distancing guidelines.
