Ensure Suitable & Timely Treatment At Non-COVID Hospitals: Odisha CM

Bhubaneswar : Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today directed senior Government officials to ensure that non-COVID hospitals in Odisha deliver suitable and essential medical services to patients. Naveen highlighted this matter during a review meeting on COVID-19 situation/management in the State. The Chief Minister’s directive came in the wake of instances where people have been denied suitable treatment at non-COVID hospitals in State.

“There should not be even minor deviation from these orders and every patients at non-COVID hospital should get the rightful and appropriate treatment,” the Chief Minister said. Naveen instructed senior officials to strengthen ambulance network in the State. “Our priority is to save lives of patients, therefore all our efforts should be focussed towards this.”

During the meeting, Naveen asked the officials to ensure that in the event of death of COVID warriors due to the deadly infection, there should be no delay in dispensing the compensation amount to their family members. Feedback on the service and facilities should be collected from the people at COVID Hospitals and Care centres. On the basis of their feedback, the facilities should be improved, he added.

At today’s meeting, Observers of Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Bolangir, Bargarh and Nuapada, presented the status of COVID management in their respective districts.
