Amid confusion over the Chief Ministerial face of Congress in Punjab, the Twitter account of Congress tweeted a video that hinted towards Charanjit Channi being the candidate for the upcoming assembly elections.
In the video, Sonu Sood can be heard saying, “real chief minister is the one who does not have to tell he is the chief ministerial candidate.” The video was followed by clips of Channi addressing rallies and meeting the people of Punjab and left the netizens guessing and approving of Sood endorsing Channi as the Chief Ministerial candidate. This comes days after Sood’s sister joined Congress.
However, the clip was taken from an interview conducted by Barkha Dutt with Sonu Sood and his sister Malvika Sood. The former didn’t mean Channi when he said, “The real chief minister, the real king is the one who has to forcibly brought to the chair and who does not have to struggle for it and does not have to state that I am CM candidate, I deserve it. He should be such a backbencher, who is brought from behind and told that you deserve it. Such a chief minister can bring change in the country.”

However the edited clip posted by Congress cropped Malvika Sood who has been given the ticket from Moga who was also present in the interview.
