Bhubaneswar, July 4: The plan to open and inventory the Ratna Bhandar at the Puri Jagannath temple is still pending. Justice Arijit Pasayat, Chairperson of the Ratna Bhandar Inventory Committee, mentioned that the tentative date of July 8 might not be feasible due to the influx of thousands of visitors for the Rath Yatra.
The Odisha government has yet to grant the necessary permission to open the treasury of Lord Jagannath, Justice Pasayat added. However, he indicated that a final decision on the specific date and time is expected to be made in a meeting scheduled today in Puri.
Minister for Law, Government of Odisha, Prithiwiraj Harichandan had initially proposed July 8 as the date to open the Puri Ratna Bhandar, responding to a longstanding demand from the public.
