It started with a warning. It turned into a pandemic that has transformed life as we know it.
WHO Confirmed the OutBreak.
The outbreak was one of at least a dozen to be confirmed by the World Health Organization that December, including cases of Ebola in west Africa, measles in the Pacific and dengue fever in Afghanistan. Outside China, its discovery was barely noticed.
Over the next 100 days, the virus would freeze international travel, extinguish economic activity and confine half of humanity to their homes, infecting more than a million people and counting, including an Iranian vice-president, the actor Idris Elba, and the British prime minister. By the middle of April, more than 75,000 would be dead.

On 31 December, a Chinese government website announced the detection of a “pneumonia of unknown cause” in the area surrounding the South China seafood wholesale market in Wuhan, an industrial city of 11 million people.The Wuhan seafood market is ordinarily bustling.

Two corona virus is a Respiratory Syndrome have already sparked pandemics this century. This new one is deadly too. In the January 8, 2020 a 61-year old man died in a Wuhan hospital, the first known victim. Thailand reports its first case, involving a 61-year old Wuhan resident whose high temperature was detected by a thermal surveillance scanner in Bangkok airport.

It is spreading around the world: Japan, South Korea, and the US, where yesterday a 35-year old man who had recently returned from Wuhan presented to a clinic in Washington state with a cough and a high fever, becoming the country’s first case.

Covid-19 declared a pandemic
In a rare Oval Office address, Trump announces that his administration is embarking on “the most aggressive and comprehensive effort to confront a foreign virus in modern history”. The number of cases in the US has passed 1,000 and more than 116,000 people are infected worldwide.The WHO declares what has become obvious: Covid-19 is a pandemic.
As of 10 April 2020, the Ministry of Health and Family welfare have confirmed a total of 6,412 cases, 504 recoveries (including 1 migration) and 199 deaths in the country. Experts suggest the number of infections could be much higher as India’s testing rates are among the lowest in the world. The infection rate of COVID-19 in India is reported to be 1.7, significantly lower than in the worst affected countries.

A patient who flew in from China’s Wuhan University has tested positive for the new corona virus and is in isolation in a hospital in the southern Indian state of Kerala. The Indian government has stressed that it is prepared to handle any outbreak in the country.

A 76-year-old man who died two days ago in Karnataka while being treated for suspected corona virus has become India’s first COVID-19 fatality with his samples taken earlier confirming the infection, the person has returned from Saudi Arabia.

The outbreak has been declared an epidemic in more than a dozen states and union territories, where provisions of the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897 have been invoked, and educational institutions and many commercial establishments have been shut down. India has suspended all tourist visas, as a majority of the confirmed cases were linked to other countries.
On 22 March 2020, India observed a 14-hour voluntary public curfew at the instance of the prime minister Narendra Modi. The government followed it up with lockdowns in 75 districts where COVID cases had occurred as well as all major cities. Further, on 24 March, the prime minister ordered a nationwide LockDown for 21 days, affecting the entire 1.3 billion population of India.

The western state of Maharashtra reported the highest number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases as of April 9, 2020, with over 1,135 cases. While the southern state of Tamil Nadu and the capital city of Delhi trailed behind at 738 and 669 cases respectively. As of April 9, there were a total of 5,734 confirmed infections across India. The country went into lockdown on March 25, making it the largest LockDown in the world.

Corona Virus extended its footprint in India on March 15 with Odisha reporting its first case. who recently returned from Italy tested positive for the coronavirus.
The 33-year-old patient who reached Delhi from Italy on March 6 and travelled to Bhubaneswar by train on March 12 is being treated at the Capital Hospital in the Odisha capital.

2 new coronavirus cases were reported as of 8:00 AM on Apr 10 in Odisha, according to data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. This brings the total reported cases of coronavirus in Odisha to 44. Among the total people infected as on date, 2 have recovered and 1 has passed away.
District-wise breakup is available for 20 of the total 44 cases reported in the state. Khurda had the highest number of Covid-19 cases at 14 confirmed infections.

Thursday was India’s worst day of fighting the Covid-19 battle with 809 new cases and 46 deaths being reported across India. The death toll due to the novel coronavirus in India now stands at 199 and the number of cases has risen to 6,412, according to the Union Health Ministry.
Maharashtra has reported the most coronavirus deaths at 97, followed by Gujarat at 17, Madhya Pradesh 16 and Delhi 12. Punjab and Tamil Nadu have reported eight fatalities each while Telengana has reported seven deaths.
