The Congress party took decisive action on Friday by expelling Manas Choudhury, the president of Cuttack district, for a period of six years. The expulsion came in response to allegations of indiscipline and anti-party activities, although specific details regarding the nature of his actions were not disclosed by party officials.

According to a senior leader, complaints had surfaced accusing Choudhury of orchestrating conspiracies against party candidates within Cuttack district. Substantiating evidence reportedly led to the party’s decision, emphasizing their policy of zero tolerance towards indiscipline.

In a bold move following his expulsion, Choudhury defiantly called a press conference at Congress Bhawan. During the conference, he vehemently criticized the party leadership, showcasing his refusal to be deterred by the disciplinary action taken against him.
