Bhubaneswar : A day after 27 employees of a private hospital in Bhubaneswar were found infected of COVID-19, which led to sealing of its premises, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) inspected 10 hospitals in the city today to check if they are complying with the COVID-19 guidelines issued by the government.
Under the supervision of Municipal Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary, teams in three zones led by respective Deputy Commissioners inspected different health service providing institutions. Pramod Kumar Prusty for North Zone, Ravinarayan Jethy for South-West Zone and Anshuman Rath for South-East Zone lead the team for the inspection today.
All the three teams made their move from respective zones and conducted a thorough inspection at Kar Clinic, Neelachal Hospital, Mohan Diabetics Centre, Kalinga Hospital, Care Hospital, Apollo Hospital, Usthi Hospital, Health Village Hospital, Ruchika Nursing Home and Vivekanand Hospital.
The teams checked whether the hospitals followed proper IEC, Social Distancing, information about suspected cases, proper steps followed before treatment, documentation of cases, sanitisation, waste disposal and strict adherence of guidelines.
However, no hospital has been given closure notice. Further decision will be taken based on the inputs the teams obtained during the inspections of the hospitals. The team comprised of BMC Officials, Enforcement team of BMC and BDA, Health Department personnel and Commissionerate Police personnel.
