A delegation from the Odisha BJP, led by state unit president Manmohan Samal, extended an invitation to BJD president Naveen Patnaik for the upcoming swearing-in ceremony of the first BJP government in the state, scheduled for June 12. The delegation, including Suresh Pujari, Basanta Panda, Samir Mohanty, and Nityananda Gond, visited Naveen Niwas to personally deliver the invite. Patnaik graciously accepted and confirmed his attendance.Samal informed the media that efforts are also underway to invite the state Congress president and other senior leaders. Invitations have been sent to 100 Odisha-cadre IAS officers based in Delhi, as well as prominent Odias holding key positions, including the RBI governor, LIC chairperson, AIIMS-Bhubaneswar director, and other notable figures.He emphasized that the BJP aims to govern by taking the opposition into confidence. BJP national observer for Odisha, Vijaypal Singh Tomar, had previously indicated that the party state unit chief would personally invite Patnaik to the event.
