Bhubaneswar : Odisha reported the highest single-day spike of 225 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. With this, the tally mounted to 3723, said Health and Family Welfare Department today.
Of the new cases, 29 are local contacts while remaining 196 have been reported from different quarantine centres. Cuttack has reported highest 92 cases followed by Ganjam (20) and Khordha (19).
The fresh cases have been reported from 16 districts: Jagatsinghpur: 13, Khordha: 19, Nayagarh: 7, Cuttack: 92, Dhenkanal: 7, Balasore: 2, Angul: 1, Bhadrak: 5, Kalahandi: 3, Kandhamal: 15, Ganjam: 20, Sundargarh: 1, Puri:15, Bolangir: 12, Kendrapada: 4, and Mayurbhanj: 9
With this, the number of active cases in the state rose to 1236. While 2474 persons have so far recovered in the state, 10 have succumbed to the virus.
