The North Eastern state of Assam has been severely affected by floods leading to about affecting nearly 20 lakh people. The floods also have lead to the death of six people. Around 20 districts are currently facing the wrath after incessant rains hit and cut off the district of Dima Hasao from the rest of the state.
Roads, bridges and houses have been completed or partially damaged in several areas.
Around 18 trains have been cancelled and more than 10 terminated as work for restoration of the damaged railway tracks are underway despite the rain.
