In the midst of an energized atmosphere, Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP’s candidate for Sambalpur’s Lok Sabha seat and a Union Minister, made a strong commitment during his campaign in Deogarh constituency. He pledged to implement a ban on country liquor if the BJP wins power in Odisha. Speaking at a public gathering, Pradhan addressed concerns raised by women about the impact of unrestricted country liquor availability. He firmly stated that banning country liquor would alleviate the suffering of women in the state and curb corruption linked to its distribution. The crowd erupted with enthusiasm, showing their support for Pradhan’s vow to bring justice and relief to the affected women.

Pradhan also mentioned that progress continues on the Talcher-Bimlagarh railway line, with the Barkote-Jharsuguda railway line’s survey work completed. He emphasized that once land acquisition is expedited post the BJP’s assumption of power in the state, the project will commence. Additionally, he pledged various development initiatives for Deogarh, including a medical college, hospital, and irrigation facilities. Other promises in their manifesto encompassed higher MSP, increased PMAY housing, Subhadra Yojana for women, bonuses for kendu leaf workers, enhanced allowances for PwD and elderly citizens, and youth employment opportunities. In his speech, the union minister subtly criticized the CM’s reliance on video appearances and alleged control by a favored subordinate, contrasting it with the increasing faith in PM Modi among the populace despite jealousy from those in power.
