Bhubaneswar, July 24: COVID-19 patients of the Temple City need not worry! The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) in its war against the COVID-19 pandemic situation has taken exemplary steps to increase the bed strength for better and efficient treatment of the patients across the State Capital. There will be 850 more beds including 31 ICU beds.

While the High-Tech Medical and Hospital in the collaboration with BMC is coming up with a 550-beded exclusive facility for COVID care, the Chandrasekharpur-based Aditya Ashwini Hospital is coming up with a facility of 150 beds exclusively for the treatment of the COVID-19 patients. This is also under the collaborative effort of BMC.As the intensive care facility is a critical component of the COVID management process, out of these 150 beds at the Aditya Ashwini Hospital, 31 will be of ICU facility. Both the hospitals have come up with these COVID treatment facilities as a public-private partnership (PPP) mode, which is a USP of BMC.
In another development, the city will get three COVID Care Homes (CCH) with 50 beds each. Each of the CCH will come up within the three administrative zones of BMC and these will come up with the funds provided by the MLA Local Area Development Fund of the respective MLAs concerned.
