The inaugural session of the 18th Lok Sabha kicked off with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other newly elected members taking their oaths on Monday. Bhartruhari Mahtab was sworn in as the protem Speaker by President Droupadi Murmu earlier in the day. Scheduled to conclude on July 3, the session will feature the election of the Lok Sabha Speaker on June 26, followed by President Murmu’s joint address to both Houses on June 27. The INDIA bloc, representing the Opposition alliance, is expected to challenge the NDA government on issues ranging from inflation and heatwave-related deaths to exam irregularities, impacting students nationwide.
