Bhubaneswar : With 163 new COVID-19 cases reported in Bhubaneswar today, the tally of active cases in the Capital City has crossed 1,000. Now the total number of active cases in the city is 1,069, which means this many persons are undergoing treatment at COVID hospitals here.
On the other hand, the total number of novel coronavirus cases reported in the State Capital so far is nearing 2,000. The tally of people infected by SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, is 1,991 (as per the figures shared by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation on Sunday).
Among the new cases reported over the last 24 hours in Bhubaneswar, 104 are in quarantine while 59 are local contact cases. 7 local contact cases in the age group of 20 to 48 years have been reported from Bharatpur. They had a travel history to a COVID hotspot district.
Among the quarantine cases, 13 are from Trinatha Nagar slum and 11 cases are from Pandara. Today, 46 persons recovered from the disease in Bhubaneswar taking the recovery figures to 909. Till Sunday, 11 persons have lost their lives to the deadly disease in the Capital City.
