Bhubaneswar: A 15 year old Asiatic lioness died on Saturday morning in the Nandankanan Zoo. The lioness is suspected to have died from Common Krait bite.
As per sources, the lioness was found ill and a zookeeper immediately informed the veterinary team following which her treatment started.
Considering the symptoms, three vials of anti-venom were administered to the lioness. However, she succumbed to the bite.
